    1. Asylum was so well written and much more faced paced and exciting than Athema. I felt connected to the characters so much more after reading book two and have already picked allegiance up to start as soon as I finish.Evangeline has grown on me a lot more and I’m glad that she’s slowly developing as a character. I absolutely adore Mage and Max who’s sarcasm and good humour make the book hilarious in parts.I fell in love with Sofie this book who I didn’t really take to in the first one. Go [...]

    2. After epic ending of Anathema, I started 2nd book immediately because I needed to know what woul happen to characters. "Am I stupid? For believing them?"Leo chuckled softly. "No, my dear Evangeline. You are far from stupid. Naive, absolutely. But it's born out of an enormous heart and an enduring need to believe the best of people. Not stupidity."I was surprised that after everything Evangeline went through and found out in previous book, she stayed the same sweet and trusting girl. Her naivety [...]

    3. I was a beta reader for Asylum (Causal Enchantment #2) a few months back, and the book is simply AMAZING!I loved, and I mean I ABSOLUTELY LOVED, K.A.’s first book, Anathema (Causal Enchantment #1), and I didn't want to wait even a single day longer than necessary to start her next book, Asylum, but it wasn’t even close to being published!!! So, when K. A. Tucker asked me to be a beta reader for Asylum, I was absolutely thrilled! And she didn't disappoint me ONE BIT! I think I can honestly sa [...]

    4. **THERE ARE SPOILERS FOR ANATHEMA IN THIS REVIEW**I could not wait to start this book and I was torn between wanting to draw it out and savor it and finishing it as quickly as I possibly could. Asylum picks up directly where Anathema left off, with Evangeline attempting to bring her friends from Ratheus over, along with about a hundred other vampires who had touched the portal at some point, and Sofie sending her to a remote location for her safety. The book then splits into two points of view-- [...]

    5. Book 2 in the Casual Enchantment series, this book picks up right where Anathema left off.Quick plot recap… (view spoiler)[Evangeline successfully transported her vampire friends to her world, however with them came a huge number of vampires they weren’t expecting.Evangeline has been whisked away to safety and now finds herself in a top-secret, cabin in secluded snowy mountains – though she has no idea where. She has a small number of human companions with her, including the children of Vi [...]

    6. Asylum picks up where Anathema left us and man, so many things happen during this book that I am sitting here shaking my head wondering "when will I get my hands on the next one?".Evangeline is such a great character that you love reading about her. Also in this book, we have alternating POVs and are allowed the chance to know more about Sofie. It is so amazing to learn all that she has done for the events to come to where they are in Asylum. Plus, all the other little secrets that come out duri [...]

    7. Oh my, I could NOT get my hands on this book fast enough! I read the first one in a day (well more like one night) and the next morning I was going crazy trying to get this one! Ahhh what to say without giving away hints?Oh man I cant even collect my thoughts to write what I liked about this book. Can I just say I love Sofie! I loved Mage, I loved every characterwell not everyone. But I feel like each character was so well defined! I thought I really liked Eve, but after reading the 2nd book I t [...]

    8. Ack! You guys, I'm at a loss. How do I write my review without revealing spoilers, especially for those who haven't read book one, Anathema?!? I'll try not to give away anything you couldn't deduce by reading the synopsis. This is a tough one, but I'll do my best. Asylum, thankfully, picks up immediately where Anathema left off. Chaos has ensued. Evangeline, along with Max and Leo, have been whisked away to a snowbound hideaway to protect her from the vampires who want to kill her, including the [...]

    9. (Originally Posted on RabidReads in 2014)In the last two days, I re-read the first in this series, Anathema, and enjoyed it all over again. Then I read this one and also enjoyed it. Anyone that has read the Ten Tiny Breaths series by this author, already knows what a good author K.A.Tucker is, so it was a no-brainer that I was going to read this series. She is becoming one of my go to authors for sure.Evangeline is an eighteen year old orphan who got involved with Sophie in the last book. Sophie [...]

    10. (Note: I tried not to share any spoilers. I do reference the first book Anathema. I would hate to ruin this book for you. It is a very good story to read.) I received this book as an E-ARC from the author, I was very lucky to win it as part of a contest. This is the second book in KA Tucker’s Casual Enhancement series. And all I can say to is hold on tight because this takes you for one heck of ride. This story picks up right where Anathema stops. Evangeline is learning to deal with her new surr [...]

    11. First Thought: I still want to punch Viggo in the damn face! After finishing Anathema I, every so patiently, hounded K.A. until I knew when Asylum would be out! There was just something about Anathema that grabbed a hold of me and didn't let go until the end. It was such a breath of fresh air when it came to vampires & I've never seen someone mesh current day with dystopia quiet the way she did. After the mind-blowing ending in Anathema I was expecting HUGE things in Asylumd boy was I disappoi [...]

    12. There are unavoidable spoilers for book 1, Anathema in this review) Asylum is book 2 in the Casual Enchantment series; the first being Anathema. Asylum picks immediately after the events of book 1, Anathema. Evangeline along with Max, Leo the two Forero kids (though they are not actually children as in under the age of 18) and a few servants are safely in seclusion in a cabin. I have to say that if I ever had to go into hiding, I can think of worse ways to spend my time. The cabin and its surrou [...]

    13. Asylum --book two in the Casual Enchantment series-- continues Evangeline's journey trying to break a curse that would be the end of her. Not only does she have to deal with a curse, she's being hunted by a thousand year old vampire, and the man she falls in love with can't control his blood lust and tries to kill her.The concepts evolving in this series keep growing. Kathleen has introduced many characters and creatures that we are sure we'll learn more about in the final book in the series. The [...]

    14. This is told both in Evangeline and Sofie's POV, and usually I'm not that big a fan of more than one POV, but in this case I found it to be well done.Evangeline is still in the middle of nowhere with Max, Leo and the two Forero siblings - Julian and Valentina - while Sofie is still at the house in New York, trying to keep the vampires that came with Evangeline from Ratheus in check.Viggo and Mortimer are still quite the bastards, I don't expect them to change at all, though in the end they were [...]

    15. See full review here!4.5 starsI received this book from the author. Here is my honest review:Man I enjoyed this book! I loved the first one, and I really loved this one too. Evangeline's journey gets more interesting as she's hidden in the middle of nowhere with Leo, Max, and the Forero siblings. Sofie is trying to hold down the fort in NYC with all the vamps that came over from Ratheus, plus Viggo and Mortimer. Told from Sofie's and Evangeline's POV, Asylum picks up right where Anathema left of [...]

    16. This was an AMAZING sequel!! I am always a little worried when I pick up the second book in a series that it won't be as good as the first, but this one was absolutely perfect! I love that we got to know Sofie a little better in this book. Since her & Evangeline are apart for some of this book, we get several chapters from her perspective. It was great to finally get to see what she's really like and learn a little more about her motives. And while there can never be enough Caden, we do get [...]

    17. I am hooked on this series, so many different stories woven together and one twist after another. There was more action and magic in this second book and setting the scene for book 3 with the war imploding on the scene in New York. There was minimal romance but considering the distance it was understandable as Evangeline is hidden away for most of the book for her safety and Caden has to overcome his bloodlust. The ending just set us up with more questions than answers and I am looking forward t [...]

    18. Asylum leaves you more invested in the characters than the first book, Anathema. Especially since half the story is told from Sofie's perspective(which I loved). Once again the book is riddled with twists that you weren't expecting, that leave you frantically reading to see what the outcome may be. Tucker has a way of pouring the emotions into her characters that makes you feel it(from all angles). This is definitely not a typical vampire book, the Casual Enchantment series is way, way more than [...]

    19. While I was given an E-ARC of this book by the author for review, I purchased and reviewed the first book in The Casual Enchantment Series on my own. I fell in love with the story line and characters in the first book and couldn't wait for the Asylum's release.I have to say, I certainly wasn't disappointed this time around either. The story was genius and left me wanting so much more in the end. The characters within the pages are the sort that you don't easily forget and certainly don't want to [...]

    20. I just want to post a little something without giving anything away. But I have to say WHAT AN AMAZING second book. I was drawn in from the first page and as aways fell in love with the story and the characters. You are going to be surprised, excited and sitting in the edge of your set so get ready for this amazing book!!! This is a brilliant second installment to her fabulous series and the ride she takes you on is awesome and you wont want to get off. Get ready to be sucked in to another amazi [...]

    21. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Ok, now that I got that out once again, I'm torn at the end, waiting for the story to continue. I love this series. I started book 2 thinking I knew where it was going. I was wrong! In fact, every time I guessed at what would happen, I was wrong. It was unpredictable all the way through. As annoyed as I was with Evangeline's naive-ness (word?), I felt like I'd have done the same things in her position. I could definitely relate to her and, as a mother, Sof [...]

    22. My only complaint is that the next book isn't out yet. I need answers to the cliffhangers. I guess I'll just have to wait, but I'm not a very patient person. This book was such a fantastic follow-up to the first book. The plot thickens and the story ends with so many unanswered questions. A lot of questions that were left open in the first book are answered and you get such great world development and explanations about things. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for more.

    23. I literally could not put this down, well, except for when I spilled soup on my iPad. I don't think I'll ever be able to formulate a coherent thought about this book, so do me and yourself a favor and just read it. It makes Anathema seem almost boring. Now the hard part will be waiting another year to finally see how this all plays out. That and getting matzo out of my iPad case

    24. Great second book, picking right up from where Anathema left off. The incredible action kept me moving along. It was a little confusing at first hopping between Evangeline and Sophie but it turned out to be just the right way to keep the action moving. Can't wait for the nextunfortunately that won't be until 2013.

    26. Wow. I just finished Asylum another fantastic book by K A Tucker! This one was absolutely mind-blowing and the twist and turns keep you so engaged its hard to set down!Once again the cliff hanging ending makes you squeal that it's overCan't wait for the next book
